Learn - Earn - And Progress (L.E.A.P.) - Program for Out-of-School Youth

The focus of the OneWorkSource Youth Program is to engage our 16-21 year old participants in a variety of educational enrichment activities that will enable them to make better educational and occupational decisions and help prepare them for careers, not just entry-level jobs.

Our mission is to place as many youth as possible in appropriate, meaningful jobs in safe settings, while providing exceptional supports, academic enrichment and opportunities to gain marketable skills; and to provide the community and businesses a view of our local emerging workforce at its best.

Program Purpose

  • To provide meaningful employment, training, educational, and supportive services to eligible out-of-school youth, ages 16-21
  • Career exploration, learning basic work skills, participating in a work experience, or obtaining a high school General Equivalency Diploma (GED) are all major components to this program
  • A major benefit to the youth involved in the L.E.A.P. program is the opportunity to gain actual work experience, preferably in a career field that they have a desire to become involved with in the future

Benefit to Employers

This is a no-risk program for employers.  The cost of all wages and Workman's Compensation is fully covered for the duration of the program (up to 6 months).  While the employer may choose to hire the trainee at the end of the work experience program, there is no obligation to do so.
